This is the periodic Handlebarrio email of happenings at your friendly, neighborhood bike-friendly bar and grill. Forgive us, it has been many moons since our last confession.

Want to support a good cause with your champagne toast Sunday night?

Come join Friends of the Bloomingdale Trail for good times at the New Gears Eve benefit @ Handlebar and help raise funds to grow their trail-building campaign in 2007.

All seating options include open bar:

Early Dinner (6-8:30pm) $60
Late Dinner (9pm-close) $100
Cocktails Only (11pm-close) $50

***Dinner menu***

-Creamy truffled Yukon gold potato soup with chives and a parmesan crisp.
-Mixed greens, Point Reyes blue cheese, candied walnuts, dried cherries, granny smith apple and sherry-shallot vinaigrette
-Entree Option #1 - Braised tempeh in a mushroom-red wine sauce with creamy risotto cakes and sauteed broccoli rabe
-Entree Option #2 - Seafood Entree: Fettuccine with shrimps,scallops, mussels & vegetables in a white wine cream sauce
-Almond pound cake with lemon curd and fresh berries

Friends of the Bloomingdale Trail is a 501(c)3 non-profit grassroots organization advocating for the conversion of the unused Bloomingdale railroad in Chicago into a multi-use, elevated linear park.

***Lunch-Brunch Anyone?***

Starting February 1st, Handlebar will be open for lunch-brunch (is it still called brunch monday-friday?) everyday of the week, starting at 10am. Just like we do now on the weekends, you'll be able to order off both the brunch and dinner menus til 3pm. And courtesty of our new chef, Jennifer Cooley we'll have a few new items like the fresh fruit 'fry pies' that we added recently. We're working on hooking up an espresso machine as well, so if that is your thing, let us cater to yet another one of your vices. Stop by in February and check it all out.
