We conceived of this announcement as a way to stay in touch with the community of folks (thus the name Handlebarrio) that have supported us since we opened, 9 months ago. Don't worry though, we're not starting yet another online discussion list nor will we continue to send this out to you if you don't want it. But when the cold weather blows into town and things get a little quieter on the streets of Chicago, we get the urge (and the time) to send out a note about what's going on.
We're starting to host some private parties in the space, including Sunday night's bash for XXX Racing's awards banquet. We apologize if you stop by for some grub and we're full up with a big event, but these parties help keep us going. If you, your company, or neighborhood group is looking for a place for an informal party during the holidays, give us a ring at (773) 384-9546.
We've firmed up our daily beer specials:
Sunday - $3 Guinness
Monday - $1.50 PBR (and free fries for messengers)
Tuesday - $2 Old Style Tallboys
Wednesday - $3 Goose Island IPA pints
Thursday - $1 Schlitz cans
Friday - $3 Three Floyds Alpha King pints
Saturday - $3 Bell's Two Hearted Ale pints
We're also carrying Bell's Winter Wheat ale and hope to get our hands on some Three Floyds Alpha Klaus very soon.
Finally, since we opened the doors at 2311 W. North Avenue a jillion new condo developments have sprung along the street. We would like to claim 100% of the credit for this economic development stimulus (as opposed to that useless tax cut), and would like to welcome everyone new and old over for a beer to celebrate. On a sadder note, the West Town Recycling Station down the street recently fell victim to this continued wave of gentrfication. So if you are the one grabbing the Schlitz cans from the back on Thursday nights, we recommend taking them to the place at Milwaukee and Bloomingdale that's still open as of press time.
