Former Goose Island brewer Josh Deth and his partners wanted to open a brewpub but instead ended up buying out La Cumbamba owner William Restrepo to open thie cyclist- friendly restaurant.
They've kept the tile mosaics Restrepo installed and added a few touches of their own, like bar stools built by Blackstone Bicycle Works director Andy Greg out of old tire rims. A basement lounge outfitted with couches and a long coffee table is intended to serve as a meeting place for any group who wants to use it.
The eclectic, veggie-friendly menu is "imaginative without being overdone," says one Rater: there are samosas and stuffed mushroom caps, fish tacos and African groundnut stew, tofu and seitan sandwiches, and unusual desserts like plantains Foster.
There's live music every Wednesday and Thursday night.
